Tom graduated from La Quinta in 1979 and went on to Biola in La Mirada where he earned a degree in theology. Once he completed his work at Biola he started working at Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa and was mentored there by Pastor Chuck Smith. During his college days he changed the spelling of his first name to Thom and for the remainder of his life he was known as Thom.
Not sure of the year but he went to Albania and started a mission and from there he went to Greece and again another mission. His final mission was started in Chennai India, where he stated for he stayed until passing on December 12, 2011. While in Chennai India he started and ran an American themed restaurant called Sparky’s Dinner at #15 East Spurtank Road Chetpet Chennai, India. Although the Dinner closed shortly after his passing there is still data on the internet such as you tube videos etc. showing the love the country had for Thom and the Love he had for the people and country of India.
