Jane, former editor of The Log Newspaper, a Southern California recreational boating news publication, died June 30 of injuries sustained in a car accident. She was 30. Hascher was born Sept. 3, 1977 in Fountain Valley. According to her mother, Mari Ann Hascher, "Jane was always interested in writing, even in high school." She graduated from La Quinta High School in Westminster and attended Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. She later attended California State University, Fullerton, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, with emphasis in Public Relations. As a student, she led a collegiate volunteer group in a public relations campaign to promote the American Heart Association`s Heart Walk. Hascher was also a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).
