Funny how you pick up idioms from people that stick with you for the rest of your life. áImmediately if not sooner please.á Just looking at your picture brings it all back. The clipboard, the whistle, a cluster of blue and gray shirts milling about waiting their turn to climb a pole. I think of how many thousands of men know exactly what it was like to hear your words. Wow! That's a legacy indeed. And yes áimmediately if not soonerá is one of the guiding principles of my life today. Thanks.

Coach Webster failed me when I had him for Driver's Ed. He said that I talked too much. And one of the Gilles twins was forever pulling my hair and lobbing spit balls at me. He was the first and ONLY teacher that could ever say my name correctly because there was a jockey that had the same last name. I can on assume that he played the ponies. After I finally passed Driver's Ed, he asked me to be his Teacher's Assistant. To be honest, I was still a tad bit miffed about failing and I said no. Now that I look back on it, it makes me laugh. Thank you for the memories.

Coach Webster was one of a kind. He was a good motivator and knew how to get the most out of you. I was fortunate enough to know his daughter Betsey. After being out of high school for 14 years, I ran into Betsey while we were both attending law school. I talk with her occasionally and have expressed my condolences to her and her family. Coach, you are surely missed.

Mr. Webster taught me how to drive & was compassionate & patient when I made mistakes. I will always remember that he chose me first to drive on the freeway.
